This Beginner class is a Learn-to-Skate curriculum and requires you to wear a helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads. This is for the skater just getting started. We use Roll Right's curriculum to teach skate foundational skills in clear progressions. You keep track in your progress booklet and we keep track of your progress in our charts. A complimentary skate bag is included with your membership fee. Membership allows you to take Roll Right classes with any Roll Right certified instructor without having to start over. RollRight.org also provides you with support videos of skills taught so you can remember what they are when you leave the class.

Step 1: Sign your Skate Oregon School 2024 waiver for everyone in your group participating in any of our classes or practice time.

Step 2: Register your $20 membership one-time with RollRight.Org before signing up for this class.

Step 3: Book your class.

If you come to class without all of your protective gear, you will lose your class.

Kids and Adults are grouped separately with their own instructors if they share the same class time. Kind of perfect for parents who want to learn something new along with their kids. Parents must stay onsite for the entirety of their kid”s class.

$5 Rental skates are available in limited quantities for your class. You must reserve ahead of booking your class.

In Beginner Roller Dance, we'll work on various base rhythm skate routines and simple variations like the base Downtown, G-slide, and more. This class is geared towards learning routines. If you are wanting to learn individual dance skills, book a Footwork Essentials Class. Your instructor is available for help to diagnose specific moves you need support in and give you the little nugget to help you learn the routines.

In Intermediate-Advanced Roller Dance, we’ll work to build our library of variations as well as more intricate rhythm skate routines and choreography.

Prerequisites: Must pass or be assessed passed Stage 3 of the Roll Right Curriculum. You can come in for Studio Practice time and ask to be assessed.

Learn the fundamentals of balance, edges, rotation and posture as they apply to common footwork used to roller skate. We’ll practice footwork skills encouraging both structured and freestyle expression. This is a class where you learn to do individual skate skills like pivots, spins, grapevine, snakewalk, dribbles, hez, zero, different transitions, crossovers, etc. This class is slightly different than the one offered at the rink in that the class size is capped at 8. You’ll get a lot more individual attention to go at your own pace. We meet you where you’re at and help elevate you closer to the goal.
